- "There can be no Conclave without…"
"I know…without the "great Captain Ammand"." - ―Ammand and Jack Sparrow
Ammand was a Pirate Lord during the time of Lord Cutler Beckett's attempts to eradicate piracy in the Caribbean. Ammand was the lord of the Black Sea[1], and also took the moniker "Ammand the Corsair".
Ammand led the Barbary Corsairs, organized privateers known to rob the trade ships of Christian infidels. He combined his forces with the Ottoman Empire to control the region from Morocco to Turkey and beyond.[2] Ammand was wanted dead or alive by the East India Trading Company for crimes including those against the church, theft of church property, assaulting a nun, and piracy along the Barbary Coast. The reward was 4,400 guineas.[3]
Ammand evaded capture by the EITC and joined the Brethren Court at Shipwreck Cove to unite with Jack Sparrow and his followers against Lord Beckett. Of the members of the Brethren, Ammand was known to respect Villanueva, and his was the only voice Ammand listened to.[4]
